A mixed, unlabelled blend of vibrant red, orange, yellow, pink and purple bicoloured flowers. Up to five blooms can open on each stem.

Sparaxis are incredibly tough and hardy bulbs that can deliver an abundant display for several weeks. They look fantastic planted amongst grasses ,in perennial beds, pots or utilised in lawn/meadow plantings.

Wherever they grow, Sparaxis offer low cost, easy care, long term colour. It is a good idea to plant these colourful flowers in clumps or drifts to maximise their impact.

Spraraxis tricolor are commonly known as Harlequin Flowers.

Sparaxis are cormous perennials with basal fans of erect lance shaped leaves. From spring to early summer they produce 1-5 stems that bear 2-5, widely funnel shaped flowers, each with a black or dark red central mark.

Grow in moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot. Water to establish, then only if rainfall is low. Bulbs can be left to naturalise, and only need to be divided once overcrowding occurs. A light application of fertiliser in spring or autumn will suffice, they are not heavy feeders.

They begin their growth with the moist winter weather, flower in spring then become dormant over the hot, dry summer months so they are almost purpose built for many of our Australian climates.
